Possible Causes

Seized or obstructed fan blades, Worn fan motor bearings, Shorted fan motor winding, Loose fan motor connector on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and let it cool. Do not attempt to spin the fan while the unit is connected to power.

Steps:

  • 1. Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and drawer. Look up toward the fan and heater. Ensure no food pieces, foil, or accessories are contacting the fan blades.
  • 2. Access the fan: Remove the top cover to expose the fan assembly. Carefully try to spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or tight spots.
  • 3. Clean the fan: Remove built-up grease and debris from the blades and surrounding shroud. Excess grease can unbalance the fan and overload the motor.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Check the fan motor connector at the PCB and at the motor. Reseat connectors and look for heat damage or loose pins.
  • 5. Test motor (if equipped): With the motor disconnected, measure winding resistance. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or OL (open) indicates a failed motor. Replace the fan motor assembly.

Note: A fan fault can cause overheating and damage to the heater and plastics. Do not continue using the air fryer until the fan issue is resolved.
