Possible Causes
Worn fan motor bearings, Fan blade rubbing housing, Coil whine from control board, Loose fan mounting bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting. Avoid contact with moving parts.
Step 1 – Isolate source
- Listen to determine if the noise comes from the top (fan) or front (control board).
Step 2 – Inspect fan area
- Remove basket and pan and look up at the fan.
- Check for rubbing marks on the fan guard or housing.
- Open the housing and ensure the fan motor bracket is tight.
Step 3 – Replace worn motor
- If the fan motor whines even when spun by hand, replace the fan motor assembly.
- If the noise clearly comes from the control board (coil whine), board replacement is the only reliable fix.
