Possible Causes
Weak heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Grease buildup on element reducing heat transfer, Control board temperature calibration drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before cleaning or opening.
Step 1 – Verify temperature
- Use an oven thermometer placed in the basket.
- Set the air fryer to 400°F/200°C and run for 10 minutes.
- Compare the thermometer reading to the set temperature. A large difference (more than 50°F/10–15°C) indicates a problem.
Step 2 – Clean heating area
- Remove grease and residue from the heating element and interior walls.
- Grease buildup can insulate the element and affect heat distribution.
Step 3 – Inspect and test components (advanced)
- Open the housing (unplugged).
- Test the heating element resistance; compare to specifications if available. A significantly higher resistance than normal can indicate a weak element.
- Test the NTC temperature sensor for reasonable resistance at room temperature and check for secure mounting near the heater.
Step 4 – Replace faulty parts
- Replace a weak or partially failed heating element.
- If the sensor is loose or not in proper contact with its mounting point, remount or replace it.
- If both are good but temperature remains inaccurate, the control board calibration may be off and the board should be replaced.
