Dash air fryer shows E4 and will not heat; fan may run briefly then stop.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool fully. Internal metal parts can remain hot for some time.

Step 1 – Visual inspection of heater area

• Remove basket and pan.
• Look up into the top of the cooking chamber at the heating element coil.
• Check for obvious breaks in the coil, heavy pitting, or burn marks.

Step 2 – Access heater connections (advanced)

• Turn the unit upside down and remove the bottom screws to separate the housing.
• Locate the two heavy-gauge wires going to the heating element terminals.
• Ensure both spade connectors are tight and not burned or melted. Reseat any loose connectors.

Step 3 – Test heating element continuity

• With the unit unplugged, disconnect at least one heater wire.
• Use a multimeter on ohms and measure across the heater terminals.
• A typical air fryer heater will show low resistance (often 10–40Ω). Infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.

Step 4 – Replace failed parts

• If the element is open or visibly damaged, replace the heating element assembly for your Dash model.
• If the element tests good and wiring is intact, the control board heater relay may be defective. Board replacement is recommended to be done by a qualified technician.

Warning: Do not attempt to repair or splice a broken heating element; always replace the entire assembly.
