Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool. Do not insert fingers or tools into the fan area while plugged in.
Step 1 – Listen and observe
- When you attempt to start a cycle (before unplugging), note whether you hear the fan trying to spin or any humming noise.
- If the fan is silent or just hums, it may be jammed or failed.
Step 2 – Inspect fan for obstruction
- Remove basket and pan and look up toward the top of the chamber.
- On many Dash models, the fan blades are visible behind a guard near the heating element.
- Check for food debris, warped plastic, or foil blocking the fan.
- Remove any obstruction with a wooden stick or plastic tool (unit unplugged).
Step 3 – Access fan motor (advanced)
- Unplug the unit and remove the outer housing screws.
- Locate the fan motor assembly above or behind the heating element.
- Try spinning the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding.
- Check the motor connector at the control board and at the motor for looseness or corrosion; reseat as needed.
Step 4 – Replace faulty fan motor
- If the fan is stiff, noisy, or has excessive play, replace the fan motor and blade assembly compatible with your Dash model.
- If the motor spins freely but never receives power (confirmed with a multimeter), the control board fan driver is likely faulty and the board should be replaced.
