Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Obstruction in fan blades, Failed fan motor winding, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and wait until all internal parts are cool.
Steps:
- Listen for fan: Start a cycle briefly (if possible) and listen for the fan. If it hums but does not spin, it may be jammed or seized.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and inspect the fan guard area. Food debris or warped plastic can interfere with the fan. Clean thoroughly.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the rear or top cover to expose the fan motor and blades. Manually spin the fan; it should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or noisy, the motor bearings may be worn.
- Electrical test: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the fan motor connector and measure resistance across the motor leads. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed motor.
- Control board: If the motor spins freely and has normal resistance, the fan driver circuit on the main PCB may not be supplying power. Inspect the board for burnt traces or components near the fan connector. Replace the PCB if defective.
Note: Operating the air fryer without a working fan can cause overheating and damage. Do not bypass fan safety circuits.
