Possible Causes
Misaligned basket not fully inserted, Faulty microswitch for basket detection, Broken actuator tab on drawer, Loose wiring to door/basket switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before internal inspection.
Basic checks:
- Reinsert basket: Remove the basket/drawer and slide it back in firmly until it clicks. Ensure no food or foil is caught on the rails.
- Inspect drawer rails: Check for bent rails or obstructions preventing full insertion. Clean any crumbs or grease buildup.
- Check actuator tab: On many Electrolux models, a small plastic tab on the drawer engages a microswitch inside the housing. Inspect this tab for cracks or breakage. If broken, the drawer or handle assembly may need replacement.
- Test microswitch: With the housing removed and the unit unplugged, locate the basket/door switch. Manually press the switch and listen for a distinct click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when pressed. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Wiring: Ensure the switch connector is firmly attached to the control board and that wires are not pinched or broken.
Tip: Do not force the drawer; this can break the actuator and worsen the problem.
