Possible Causes
Corrupted microcontroller firmware, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Failed main control PCB, Power supply instability on logic circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before opening the housing.
Steps:
- Power cycle: Unplug for 10–15 minutes to fully discharge internal capacitors. Plug back in and test. If E8 returns immediately, proceed.
- Inspect internal connectors: Remove the control panel cover and check the ribbon cable between the display/touch board and the main control PCB. Reseat the cable carefully, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of steam or moisture intrusion around the control panel. Dry the area thoroughly and allow the unit to sit in a warm, dry place for several hours before retesting.
- Board inspection: Examine the main control PCB for burnt components, corrosion, or cracked solder joints, especially around the microcontroller and voltage regulators. If damage is visible, replace the board.
Note: Firmware issues generally require board replacement; field reprogramming is not typically supported for consumer air fryers.
