- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, wipe it dry and let it sit unplugged for several hours. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel; apply it to a cloth instead.
- Check for stuck keys: Gently press around the touch areas to see if any part of the overlay is physically stuck or deformed.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not torn or creased.
- Replace touch panel: If the cable is intact but E9 persists and keys do not respond, the touch panel or interface board is likely defective and should be replaced as a unit.
