Air fryer does not power on at all; no lights, no display, no response to buttons.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening. Do not bypass safety devices.

• Check outlet and cord: Test the outlet with another appliance. Inspect the power cord for cuts or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
• Internal fuse: Remove the rear cover and locate the main fuse (glass or ceramic). Test for continuity with a multimeter. If blown, replace with the same type and rating, but also inspect for shorts that may have caused it to blow.
• Thermal cutoff: Some Emeril Lagasse models have a thermal cutoff in the primary circuit. Locate and test for continuity. Replace if open and check for signs of overheating.
• Board inspection: If fuses and cutoffs are good, inspect the main control board for burnt components or swollen capacitors. If present, replace the main control board.
• Do not bypass safety parts: Never short across fuses or thermal cutoffs to "test" the unit; this is a fire and shock hazard.
