Possible Causes
Drip tray not installed correctly, Cracked drip tray, Warped basket or pan allowing grease to bypass, Overfilled pan with liquids
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer and allow it to cool before cleaning spilled grease.
- Check assembly: Ensure the drip tray is fully inserted and seated flat in the bottom of the cavity. Verify that the basket or pan is properly aligned on the rails.
- Inspect drip tray: Remove and examine the tray for cracks, warping, or pinholes. Replace if damaged.
- Check basket/pan: Look for warping or damage to the basket or cooking pan that could allow grease to run over the edges instead of into the tray.
- Avoid excess liquids: Do not cook large volumes of liquid in the air fryer. For marinated foods, drain excess marinade before cooking.
- Clean base: Wipe any grease from the base and around the door seal to prevent future leaks and smoke.
