Possible Causes
Loose power cord connection inside unit, Failing thermal cutoff opening under load, Overheating due to blocked vents, Cracked solder joint on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer and let it cool before opening.
- Ventilation check: Ensure the fryer has adequate clearance and that rear and side vents are not blocked. Clean any dust or grease from vents.
- Reproduce issue: Note if shutdown occurs after a consistent time or only on high temperatures; this can indicate thermal cutoff issues.
- Inspect internal connections: Remove the rear cover and gently tug on the power cord terminals, fuse holders, and board connectors. Tighten or re-seat any loose connections.
- Check thermal cutoff: Test continuity when the unit is cool. If it opens only when hot, it may be weak and tripping prematurely. Replace with the correct temperature-rated cutoff.
- Board solder joints: Inspect the underside of the main control board for dull, cracked, or ringed solder joints at high-current points (heater relay, power input). Reflow solder if skilled, or replace the board.
