Possible Causes
Burned-out heating element, Loose heater terminal connection, Open thermal fuse in heater circuit, Broken wire in heater harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer and allow it to cool completely. Heating components can retain heat.
- Confirm symptom: Start a short cycle and verify that the fan runs but no heat is felt from the exhaust vents after 2–3 minutes.
- Access heater: Remove the rear and/or top cover to expose the heating element and its wiring.
- Check connections: Ensure both heater terminals are firmly connected to the harness. Tighten or re-crimp any loose spade connectors.
- Test thermal fuse: Locate the inline thermal fuse or cutoff in series with the heater (often wrapped in fiberglass sleeve). With the unit unplugged, test for continuity. Replace if open, and investigate cause of overheating.
- Measure heater resistance: Disconnect one heater lead and measure resistance across the element. If it reads open (OL), the element is burned out and must be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or broken wires between the board, thermal fuse, and heater. Replace any damaged sections with high-temperature wire.
