Possible Causes

Cabinet temperature sensor harness unplugged, Broken NTC sensor lead, Damaged wiring between sensor and control board, Failed main control board sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely before opening any panels. Do not work on the unit while it is connected to power.

  • Power reset: Unplug the unit for 10–15 minutes, then plug back in and try a simple air fry cycle. Sometimes E1 is a transient sensor error.
  • Check for obvious damage: Inspect the rear and interior of the oven for melted plastic, burnt smell, or visible damage near the temperature probe area (usually on the back wall or side wall of the cavity).
  • Access the temperature sensor: Remove the rear cover (screws on the back panel). Locate the small metal probe or bulb (NTC sensor) entering the cooking cavity with two thin wires leading to a connector.
  • Verify connections: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the control board or intermediate harness. Look for broken or frayed wires and repair or replace as needed.
  • Basic continuity check (for experienced DIYers): With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter set to resistance (ohms) and measure across the two sensor leads. A typical NTC sensor will show some resistance (e.g., 10k–100kΩ at room temperature). If it reads open (OL), the sensor is bad and should be replaced.
  • Replace the sensor if open or damaged: Remove the mounting screw or clip holding the sensor, gently pull it out, route the new sensor the same way, and reconnect to the board.
  • If sensor tests good: The fault may be on the main control board’s sensor circuit. Inspect the board for burnt spots or corrosion. If present, replace the main control board.
