Possible Causes
Seized fan motor, Broken fan blade, Obstruction in fan housing, Failed fan relay or driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer and allow it to cool. Do not operate without the fan; overheating and fire risk.
- Confirm symptom: Start a short cycle and listen. If you hear the heater click on but no fan noise, stop the cycle and unplug.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the rear cover and any internal shroud covering the fan.
- Check for obstructions: Remove any food debris, foil, or grease buildup around the fan blades. Ensure the blades are not rubbing against the shroud.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. If it is stiff or does not coast, the motor bearings may be seized. Replace the fan motor assembly.
- Electrical test: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the fan motor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- If motor is good: The fan relay or driver on the main control board may not be energizing the motor. Inspect the board and replace if necessary.
