Possible Causes
Shorted heating element to chassis, Damaged power cord, Moisture inside heater or fan area, Shorted main control board component
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Unplug the fryer immediately. Risk of shock and fire.
- Check cord and plug: Inspect for cuts, crushed sections, or burn marks. Replace the power cord if damaged.
- Dry the unit: If the fryer was recently washed or exposed to heavy steam, allow it to dry for 24 hours in a warm, dry area before further testing.
- Internal inspection: With the unit unplugged, remove the rear cover and inspect for obvious shorts: melted insulation, wires touching the metal chassis, or burnt components.
- Heater ground test: Disconnect heater leads and measure resistance from each heater terminal to chassis. Any measurable resistance indicates a ground fault; replace the heating element assembly.
- Board inspection: If heater and wiring are good, inspect the main control board for burnt or cracked components. Replace the board if damaged.
