Possible Causes

Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and let it cool. Do not touch the heating element.

Steps to address non-running fan:

  • Confirm symptom: Start a short cook cycle and listen for fan noise. If you hear only the heater cycling and no airflow, stop and unplug.
  • Check for obstructions: Look through vents and inside the cavity for foil, parchment, or food pieces blocking the fan.
  • Access fan assembly: Remove the bottom cover to reach the fan motor mounted near the heater.
  • Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. If it is stiff or seized, the motor bearings have likely failed and the motor must be replaced.
  • Inspect wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are intact.
  • Replace fan motor: Remove mounting screws and transfer the fan blade to a new compatible Farberware fan motor assembly. Ensure correct rotation and clearance.
  • Control board check: If a new motor still does not run, the fan driver circuit on the main control PCB may be defective and require board replacement.

Warning: Do not continue using the fryer without a working fan; this can overheat and damage the unit.
