Possible Causes
Grease or moisture on touch surface, Damaged touch membrane, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Failed touch controller on display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or opening the control area.
Steps to restore keypad function:
- Clean the panel: Wipe the control panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove grease and residue. Dry thoroughly.
- Allow to dry: If the panel was exposed to heavy moisture, leave the unit unplugged for several hours to dry internally.
- Check cable connection: Remove the bottom or front cover (depending on model) to access the keypad ribbon cable. Ensure it is fully seated in the connector on the control board.
- Replace keypad assembly: If specific buttons remain dead or the panel is cracked, replace the complete Farberware touch control panel or display/keypad assembly.
Tip: Avoid pressing the panel with sharp objects or excessive force, which can damage the membrane.
