Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Surfaces and internal parts may be very hot.
Steps to address E3:
- Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer has at least 5 inches (12 cm) of clearance on all sides and is not pushed against a wall or under low cabinets. Clear any obstructions from the rear and bottom vents.
- Clean the air paths: Remove the basket and pan. Clean grease and food debris from the basket, pan, and interior cavity. Pay special attention to the area around the fan and heating element (do not bend the element).
- Verify fan operation: After cooling, plug in and start a low-temperature cycle. Look through the rear or top vents to confirm the fan is spinning. If the fan does not run, unplug immediately and inspect the fan motor and wiring.
- Inspect the fan motor: With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, check that the fan blades spin freely by hand and that no wires are caught. If the motor is seized or noisy, replace the fan motor assembly.
- Check the sensor: If E3 appears even with good airflow and a working fan, the NTC sensor may be misreading. Inspect and test the sensor as in E1/E2 and replace if out of range.
- Control board check: If the fan and sensor are good, the main control PCB may be failing to regulate power to the heater. Look for burned relay contacts or scorched areas; replace the board if found.
Tip: Regularly cleaning grease buildup around the heater and fan greatly reduces overtemperature errors.
