How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the cord or opening the housing. Mains voltage is present inside the unit.
Steps to troubleshoot E8:
- Check outlet and cord: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm proper voltage. Inspect the Farberware power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Inspect plug and strain relief: Ensure the cord is firmly seated in the unit (if detachable) and that the strain relief is intact.
- Access the control board: Remove the bottom cover to expose the main control PCB. Locate the AC input terminals and any onboard fuse.
- Check internal fuse: If present, test the fuse with a multimeter for continuity. Replace only with the same type and rating if blown.
- Inspect power supply components: Look for bulging capacitors, burned resistors, or cracked solder joints in the power supply section of the board. Any visible damage usually requires replacing the entire control PCB.
- Reseat connectors: Reseat all low-voltage connectors from the power supply to the display and keypad board.
Note: Component-level repair of the power supply is not recommended for non-professionals due to shock risk; replacing the complete control board is safer.
