Possible Causes
Warped or damaged cooking pan, Cracked nonstick coating allowing seepage, Overfilled basket with excess oil, Debris preventing pan from seating fully in basket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the unit to cool before handling hot grease. Unplug before cleaning.
Steps to address leaking grease:
- Inspect pan and basket: Remove and wash the pan and basket. Check for cracks, warping, or damage to the nonstick surface.
- Check pan fit: Ensure the pan seats fully into the basket and that there are no food particles or bent metal preventing a tight fit.
- Avoid excess oil: Do not add large quantities of liquid oil directly to the pan. Use only light coatings on food as recommended by Farberware.
- Replace damaged pan: If the pan is warped or cracked, replace it with a compatible Farberware cooking pan/basket assembly.
Tip: Place a heat-resistant mat or tray under the fryer if minor drips occur during very greasy cooks.
