Air fryer makes loud rattling or grinding noise during operation
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Loose fan blade or mounting nut, Worn fan motor bearings, Foreign object in fan housing, Loose internal panel or screw
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing covers. Do not insert fingers or tools into the fan area while the unit is plugged in.
- Step 1 – Identify noise source: Run the air fryer briefly and listen to determine if the noise comes from the top (fan area) or rear.
- Step 2 – Check for loose basket components: Remove the basket and drawer and inspect for loose crisper plates or accessories that may rattle.
- Step 3 – Inspect fan assembly: Remove the rear or top cover. Check that the fan blade is tight on the motor shaft and that the mounting nut or screw is secure.
- Step 4 – Remove debris: Look for screws, food pieces, or other objects inside the fan housing and remove them.
- Step 5 – Assess motor bearings: Spin the fan by hand. If it feels rough or wobbly, the motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Step 6 – Tighten hardware: Tighten any loose internal screws or brackets that may vibrate during operation.
