Possible Causes
Weak heating element, Miscalibrated temperature sensor, Poor door/basket seal allowing heat loss, Failing control board temperature regulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Burn Hazard: Internal parts may still be hot. Unplug and cool before servicing.
- Step 1 – Verify with thermometer: Use an oven thermometer placed in the basket to compare actual temperature to the set temperature.
- Step 2 – Check for gaps: Inspect the basket and drawer for warping or damage that prevents a tight seal, allowing hot air to escape.
- Step 3 – Clean heater and fan: Remove grease buildup from the heating element and fan guard to improve heat transfer and airflow.
- Step 4 – Test heater output: If the unit never reaches temperature, test the heating element resistance and compare to specifications. A partially failed element may still heat but not fully.
- Step 5 – Sensor and board: If the heater is good, the temperature sensor or control board may be misreading. Replace the NTC sensor first; if the issue persists, replace the control board.
