Possible Causes
Misaligned basket or drawer, Failed basket detection micro-switch, Broken actuator tab on drawer, Loose wiring to basket switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air fryer before accessing internal switches. Do not defeat or bypass safety interlocks.
- Step 1 – Reseat basket: Remove the basket and drawer completely, then slide them back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no food debris is preventing full insertion.
- Step 2 – Inspect drawer rails: Check the side rails and bottom of the cavity for bent metal or obstructions that could prevent the drawer from fully closing.
- Step 3 – Check actuator tab: On many Frigidaire air fryers, a plastic tab on the drawer engages a micro‑switch inside the housing. Inspect this tab for cracks or breakage. If broken, the drawer assembly may need replacement.
- Step 4 – Access micro-switch: Remove the side or bottom panel to locate the basket presence micro‑switch. Verify that when the drawer is fully inserted, the switch lever is depressed.
- Step 5 – Test and replace switch: With the unit unplugged, test the switch for continuity while pressing the lever. If it does not change state (open/close), replace the micro‑switch.
