Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around control board, Failing voltage regulator on PCB, Dust or grease buildup on internal components, Defective cooling path for electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the housing. Avoid touching capacitors on the control board immediately after unplugging; allow a few minutes for discharge.
- Step 1 – Improve ventilation: Ensure the air fryer is not installed in a tight cabinet or against a wall. Provide adequate space for heat to escape from the control area.
- Step 2 – Clean interior: Remove the cover to access the control board area. Use a dry, soft brush or compressed air (short bursts) to remove dust and grease from the board and surrounding plastics. Do not use liquid cleaners on the PCB.
- Step 3 – Inspect for heat damage: Look for browned areas on the board, especially near power resistors and regulators. If components appear overheated, the board should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Reassemble and test: After cleaning, reassemble the unit and run a short cycle. If E12 returns, the internal power supply is likely failing.
- Step 5 – Replace control board: Install a new main control board if the error persists despite proper ventilation and cleaning.
