Possible Causes

Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Moisture or grease bridging sensor terminals, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Failed electronic control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety Warning: Always unplug the air fryer and let it cool before removing covers. Internal metal parts and the heating element can remain hot.

  • Step 1 – Reset and clean: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes. Remove the basket and drawer and clean any heavy grease buildup inside the cavity, especially around the temperature probe area if visible. Grease or moisture can sometimes cause sensor shorts.
  • Step 2 – Access the sensor: Remove the rear or bottom panel to access the temperature sensor wiring. Locate the 2‑wire sensor harness leading from the cooking cavity to the control board.
  • Step 3 – Inspect for shorts: Look for bare wires touching the metal chassis or each other. Check for melted insulation near the heating element. If you see damage, replace or repair the harness.
  • Step 4 – Test the sensor: With the sensor unplugged from the board and the unit disconnected from power, measure resistance across the sensor. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor and it must be replaced.
  • Step 5 – Replace components: Install a new NTC temperature sensor if shorted. If the sensor and wiring are good but E2 remains, the control board’s sensor input circuit is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
  • Professional help: If you are unsure how to test resistance or remove panels safely, schedule service with a qualified technician.
