Possible Causes
Low or unstable line voltage, Faulty power cord or plug, Loose connection at main terminal block, Defective power supply section of control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Shock Hazard: Always unplug the air fryer before inspecting the cord or opening the housing. Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord.
- Step 1 – Check outlet: Plug another appliance (like a lamp) into the same outlet to confirm it has stable power. Avoid using extension cords or power strips; plug the air fryer directly into a grounded wall outlet.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Examine the Frigidaire air fryer power cord for cuts, kinks, burn marks, or loose prongs. If any damage is found, the cord must be replaced; do not tape or splice it.
- Step 3 – Reset the unit: Unplug the air fryer for 10 minutes, then plug it back in and try a short cycle. If E5 returns immediately, proceed to internal checks.
- Step 4 – Internal power connections: Remove the rear or bottom cover. Inspect the main terminal block where the cord connects to the internal wiring. Tighten any loose screws and check for discoloration or melted plastic.
- Step 5 – Control board inspection: Look at the control board for bulged capacitors, burnt spots, or cracked solder joints in the power supply area. If present, the board should be replaced.
- When to call an electrician: If multiple outlets in the area show low voltage or tripping breakers, consult a licensed electrician before using the air fryer again.
