Possible Causes

Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty control board fan driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety Warning: Unplug the air fryer and wait for the heating element and internal parts to cool before accessing the fan area.

  • Step 1 – Listen for fan operation: When starting a cycle (before unplugging), note whether you hear the fan spin up. E6 often appears if the fan fails to reach speed.
  • Step 2 – Inspect fan blades: Remove the basket and drawer. Look up toward the top of the cooking cavity at the fan guard. Check for food pieces, foil, or grease buildup blocking the fan. Do not bend the guard.
  • Step 3 – Access fan motor: Remove the rear or top cover to expose the fan motor assembly. Manually spin the fan blades; they should rotate freely without grinding or binding.
  • Step 4 – Check wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated on the control board and at the motor. Look for burnt or loose terminals.
  • Step 5 – Test motor (advanced users): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the fan motor leads. An open circuit or extremely high resistance indicates a failed motor. Replace the fan motor assembly if defective.
  • Step 6 – Control board: If the motor and wiring are good but the fan never receives power, the control board’s fan driver circuit may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
