Possible Causes
Open heating element, Loose heater wiring connection, Burnt heater relay on control board, Blown thermal cutoff in heater circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Heating circuits carry high current. Unplug the unit and verify it is cool before opening any panels.
- Step 1 – Confirm symptom: Start a cycle and check if you feel any heat from the exhaust after 2–3 minutes. If there is no warmth and E7 appears, the heater circuit is suspect.
- Step 2 – Access heater: Remove the rear or top cover to expose the heating element assembly. Inspect the element for visible breaks, cracks, or burn marks.
- Step 3 – Check connections: Verify that the heater terminals are firmly attached and that spade connectors are not loose or oxidized. Tighten or replace terminals as needed.
- Step 4 – Test continuity: With a multimeter and the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the heating element. An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Inspect thermal cutoff: Many Frigidaire air fryers include a thermal cutoff in series with the heater. Test it for continuity; if open, replace it with the correct temperature‑rated part.
- Step 6 – Control board relay: If the heater and safety devices test good, the heater relay on the control board may be burnt or stuck open. Replace the control board if you see burnt spots or if the relay does not click when heating should start.
