Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on main PCB, Faulty power cord, Defective mains switch, Open thermal fuse in heater circuit, Failed main control board power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is unplugged before opening. Capacitors in the power supply can retain charge; discharge safely if you are qualified.
- Basic checks: Confirm the outlet works and that any external power strip is switched on. Try a different outlet.
- Inspect power cord: Flex the cord gently along its length and look for cuts or kinks. Replace the power cord set if damaged.
- Check mains switch: If your Gorenje model has a physical power rocker, test it with a multimeter for continuity when ON. Replace the mains power switch if faulty.
- Internal fuse: Open the housing and locate the fuse on the main PCB. Test and replace with the exact same rating if blown. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper short that must be found.
- Thermal fuse: Some models include an inline thermal fuse near the heater. Test for continuity; replace if open, but also investigate overheating causes.
- Board replacement: If fuses, cord, and switch are good but the unit remains dead, the main control board power supply is likely defective and should be replaced.
