How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and wait for the fan to stop completely before inspection.
- Check for debris: Remove the basket and visually inspect the fan through the grill. Use a flashlight to look for loose screws, food pieces, or foil contacting the blades. Remove debris with a non-metallic tool.
- Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan blades. Roughness, scraping, or side-to-side play indicates bearing or alignment issues.
- Tighten fan nut: Access the convection fan assembly from the top/rear. Tighten the central nut or screw securing the fan to the motor shaft. Use thread-locking compound if recommended.
- Replace fan or motor: If the blades are cracked or warped, replace the fan blade impeller. If noise persists and the motor shaft has play, replace the convection fan motor.
