Possible Causes
Open heating element, Tripped or open thermal cut-out, Faulty heater relay on PCB, Broken heater wiring, Overheat-damaged terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely before opening.
- Confirm symptom: Run the unit for 3–5 minutes. If the interior remains at room temperature and no warmth is felt near the exhaust, proceed with checks.
- Inspect heater and wiring: Access the heating element assembly. Look for visible breaks in the element, burnt spots, or loose connectors.
- Test element resistance: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check thermal cut-out: Locate the thermal cut-out / high-limit thermostat in series with the heater. Test for continuity; replace if open and non-resettable.
- Relay/board: If heater and cut-out are good, listen for a click from the heater relay when starting a cycle. No click or burnt relay contacts on the main control board indicate the board should be replaced.
