Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor in heating chamber, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Loose connector on main control board, Failed main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Gorenje air fryer from the mains and let it cool completely before opening any panels. Never work on the unit while it is connected to power.
- Power reset: Unplug the fryer for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes the control board will clear a transient sensor error.
- Check sensor connector: Remove the rear or top cover (depending on model). Locate the small NTC temperature sensor wired into the cooking chamber, usually clipped near the heating element or air outlet. Verify the 2-pin connector is fully seated on the main control board and not corroded or burnt.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the thin sensor wires from the chamber to the board. Look for cuts, melted insulation, or broken conductors, especially near the heater and fan where heat is highest. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Test the NTC sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance (kΩ range), measure across the sensor leads. A typical NTC will read between 5–200 kΩ at room temperature (exact value depends on model). An infinite (OL) reading indicates an open sensor that must be replaced.
- Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is open or physically damaged, replace the NTC temperature sensor probe. If the sensor tests good but E1 persists, the main control board sensor input may be defective and should be replaced.
