Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Broken fan blades jamming motor, Faulty fan tachometer feedback, Loose fan motor connector, Failed fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure it is cool before accessing the fan area.
- Check for obstruction: Remove the basket and look up toward the fan. Spin the fan blades gently with a non-metallic tool. They should rotate freely without scraping. Remove any food debris or warped accessories blocking the fan.
- Access fan motor: Remove the top/rear cover to expose the convection fan motor assembly. Inspect the blades for cracks or deformation and replace if damaged.
- Electrical test: Disconnect the fan motor connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Compare readings with service data if available.
- Connector and wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated on the main board and that wires are not pinched or burnt.
- Board/driver check: If the motor tests good but does not receive voltage when the unit attempts to start, the fan driver circuit on the main control board may be defective. Replace the board if no output is present.
