Possible Causes
Faulty fan motor tach sensor, Blocked fan blades causing low speed, Damaged tachometer wiring to PCB, Control PCB fan speed detection failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before accessing the fan area.
Steps to address E11:
- 1. Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and visually inspect the convection fan for stuck food, foil, or warped guards that could slow the fan.
- 2. Spin test: With power disconnected, gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding noises.
- 3. Access tach sensor: Remove the housing to expose the fan motor assembly. Some motors have an integrated tach sensor with an extra wire pair. Inspect the wiring and connector for damage.
- 4. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the fan motor plug at the control PCB. Ensure a snug fit.
- 5. Replace fan motor: If the fan is slow, noisy, or the tach sensor is faulty, replace the entire convection fan motor assembly with tach sensor.
- 6. Control board check: If a new motor does not clear E11, the fan speed detection circuit on the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
