Possible Causes
Out-of-range NTC sensor calibration, Firmware temperature table error, Loose sensor mounting causing incorrect readings, Control PCB analog-to-digital converter fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool before opening the housing.
Steps to address E12:
- 1. Reset the unit: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then plug back in and attempt to set a mid-range temperature (e.g., 350°F / 180°C).
- 2. Inspect sensor mounting: Access the NTC temperature sensor near the heating element. Ensure it is firmly attached to its bracket or cavity wall and not hanging loose, which can cause inaccurate readings.
- 3. Check wiring: Verify that the sensor wires are intact and firmly connected to the control PCB.
- 4. Replace sensor: If the sensor appears damaged or has drifted (unit overheats or underheats significantly), replace it with a compatible Granitestone NTC temperature sensor.
- 5. Control board replacement: If E12 persists after sensor replacement, the temperature measurement circuitry or firmware on the main control PCB may be faulty. Replace the board.
