Air fryer beeps and shows E2 shortly after starting a cooking cycle.

Safety first: Disconnect the Granitestone air fryer from the outlet and allow it to cool fully before inspection.

Steps to address E2:

• 1. Basic reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test. If E2 returns immediately, proceed to inspection.
• 2. Access the sensor: Remove the outer housing screws (usually on the back and bottom). Locate the NTC temperature sensor near the heating element or mounted on the inner cavity wall.
• 3. Check for shorts: Inspect the sensor wires for melted insulation, bare copper touching metal, or grease buildup around the sensor connector. Clean any grease with a dry cloth; do not use water inside the electronics area.
• 4. Inspect the sensor tip: If the sensor tip is deformed, charred, or touching the heating element, it can cause a short. Gently reposition it away from the element and secure it with the original clip or a high-temperature clip.
• 5. Replace the sensor if shorted: If you can test with a multimeter and the resistance is extremely low (near 0 ohms), the sensor is likely shorted. Replace it with a compatible Granitestone NTC temperature sensor.
• 6. Control board evaluation: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main control PCB may be damaged. Replacement of the board is more advanced; consider a professional technician.
