Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main PCB, Moisture or grease on touch panel contacts, Damaged touch control PCB, Firmware glitch on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before touching the control panel internals.
Steps to address E8:
- 1. Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 10–15 minutes to allow the control to fully reset. Plug back in and test.
- 2. Clean the panel surface: Wipe the touch control panel with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to run into the edges of the panel.
- 3. Inspect internal connections: Remove the top or front cover to access the touch keypad PCB and the ribbon cable connecting it to the main control PCB. Ensure the ribbon is fully inserted and locked in place at both ends.
- 4. Check for contamination: Look for signs of moisture, steam, or grease on the keypad board. Gently clean with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use water or aggressive cleaners on the PCB.
- 5. Replace faulty panel: If certain buttons never respond or the error persists, replace the touch control panel assembly or the entire front control PCB, depending on how your Granitestone model is built.
- 6. Firmware/board issue: If a new panel does not resolve E8, the main control PCB may have a firmware or hardware fault and should be replaced.
