Possible Causes
Old grease trapped under basket and in corners, Food residue on fan guard and cavity walls, Drip tray not cleaned regularly, Grease-soaked air filter (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Do not immerse the main body in water.
Steps to remove odors:
- 1. Deep clean removable parts: Wash the basket, drawer, and drip tray with hot soapy water. Soak if necessary to remove old grease.
- 2. Clean interior surfaces: Wipe the inside cavity, including corners and under the heating element, with a cloth dampened with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid getting water into vents.
- 3. Clean fan guard: Carefully wipe the fan guard area to remove grease mist buildup.
- 4. Check and replace filter: If your Granitestone model has a grease or odor filter near the exhaust, remove and clean or replace it according to the manual.
- 5. Deodorize: Run an empty cycle at 350°F (180°C) for 10–15 minutes after cleaning to burn off any remaining residue.
