Possible Causes
Overheating triggering thermal cutoff, Loose power cord connection, Failing main control PCB, Faulty door/basket switch losing contact from vibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before inspecting internal components.
Steps to troubleshoot mid-cycle shutoff:
- 1. Check ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the air fryer and that vents are not blocked.
- 2. Inspect power cord and plug: Wiggle the power cord gently at the outlet and at the unit (while unplugged) to check for looseness or damage.
- 3. Door/basket switch: Verify the door/basket microswitch is firmly mounted and that the drawer fully engages it. Replace if intermittent.
- 4. Thermal cutoff: Inspect the thermal fuse / high-limit thermostat. If it is cycling open due to overheating, clean vents and consider replacing the thermostat if it trips too early.
- 5. Control PCB: If all else checks out, the main control PCB may be failing under heat and should be replaced.
