Display shows E6 and the air fryer will not respond to temperature or time settings.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing any covers or the control panel.

Steps to address E6:

• 1. Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If E6 reappears immediately, continue.
• 2. Inspect the control panel area: Remove the screws securing the front control panel or top housing (varies by Hamilton Beach model). Carefully lift the panel to expose the ribbon cable.
• 3. Reseat the ribbon cable: Gently disconnect the flat ribbon cable from the main board, inspect for corrosion or bent contacts, then reconnect it firmly. Do the same at the touch panel end if accessible.
• 4. Check for moisture or spills: Look for signs of liquid intrusion behind the control panel. If moisture is present, allow the panel and board to dry completely (24 hours in a dry area) before reassembly. Do not use heat guns directly on plastic parts.
• 5. Inspect the touch panel: If certain buttons were intermittent before E6 appeared, the touch membrane may be failing. Look for cracks or delamination of the overlay.
• 6. Replace components as needed: If reseating the cable does not clear E6, replace the touch control panel assembly. If a new panel does not resolve the error, the main control board is likely defective.

Note: Handle ribbon cables carefully; creasing or pulling them can cause permanent damage.
