Nonstick coating on basket or crisper tray is peeling or flaking.

Safety first: Discontinue using heavily flaking baskets, as ingesting coating particles is undesirable.

Steps to address peeling nonstick:

• 1. Inspect the extent of damage: Remove the basket and tray and look for areas where the coating has lifted or flaked.
• 2. Change cleaning habits: Switch to soft sponges and non-abrasive cleaners. Avoid metal utensils in the basket.
• 3. Replace damaged parts: Order a replacement Hamilton Beach basket and/or crisper tray compatible with your model. Do not attempt to recoat with generic sprays.
• 4. Avoid extreme heat: Follow the maximum temperature guidelines in the manual to prevent future damage.

Note: Coating wear is considered normal over time; severe early peeling may be covered under warranty.
