Possible Causes
Grease buildup on heater and cavity, Food debris on heating element, Overfilled basket causing oil splatter, Electrical overheating at connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the air fryer immediately. Allow it to cool completely. If you see flames, do not open the drawer; unplug and smother with a fire blanket or use a Class K or suitable extinguisher.
- Clean thoroughly: Once cool, remove the basket and drawer. Clean them with warm soapy water. Wipe the interior cavity, heater guard, and fan guard with a damp cloth to remove grease and burnt residue.
- Inspect heater area: Check for food stuck on or near the heating element. Remove gently without bending the element.
- Check connectors: Open the rear or top cover and inspect heater and fan connectors for signs of melting or burning. Replace any damaged connectors and affected wiring.
- Adjust cooking practices: Avoid overfilling the basket or using excessive oil, which can splatter onto the heater.
- Persistent burning smell: If the smell continues after cleaning and inspection, have the unit checked by a technician for internal overheating.
