Possible Causes
Obstruction at back of cavity, Bent drawer rails, Broken basket switch actuator tab, Misaligned cabinet front panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting the drawer mechanism.
- Check for obstructions: Look inside the cavity for any objects or food pieces preventing full insertion.
- Inspect actuator tab: On the drawer, locate the plastic tab that engages the internal microswitch. If broken or worn, the drawer may not push in far enough. Replace the drawer if the tab is damaged.
- Check cabinet alignment: Ensure the front panel is not bent inward from impact. Gently adjust if necessary.
- Test switch engagement: With the cover removed, observe whether the drawer fully depresses the microswitch when closed. Adjust the switch bracket if possible.
- Replace parts as needed: If alignment cannot be corrected, replace the drawer or switch bracket assembly.
