Air fryer will not start a cooking cycle and displays E1 on the control panel.

Safety first: Unplug the Hisense air fryer from the wall outlet and allow it to cool completely before opening any panels.

• Check for loose sensor connector: Remove the cooking basket and look into the cavity roof or rear wall where the temperature sensor (small metal probe or button) is mounted. From the back or underside (access panel), locate the two-wire harness from the NTC sensor to the main PCB. Ensure the plug is fully seated on the PCB and at the sensor end.
• Inspect wiring: Look for burnt, pinched, or broken wires along the harness. If insulation is melted or conductors are exposed, the harness should be replaced or repaired with high-temperature wire of similar gauge.
• Test the NTC sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), measure across the two sensor leads. A typical NTC will show a finite resistance (e.g., 50–200 kΩ at room temperature). If the reading is infinite (open circuit), the sensor is defective and must be replaced.
• Reassemble and test: After reseating connectors or replacing the sensor, reassemble the panels, plug the unit back in, and run a short preheat cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
• If E1 persists: The main control PCB sensor input may be faulty. At this point, replacement of the main PCB or professional service is recommended.
