Possible Causes
Obstructed fan blades by food debris, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector on main PCB, Faulty tachometer feedback circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the air fryer to cool completely before accessing the fan area.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and drawer. Look up toward the fan guard. Use a flashlight to check for food pieces, parchment paper, or foil blocking the fan. Do not insert metal tools into the fan area; use wooden or plastic tools if needed.
- Spin the fan manually: With the top cover removed (if accessible), gently rotate the fan blades by hand. They should spin freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the fan motor likely needs replacement.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and that wires are not burnt or pinched.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and start a preheat. Listen for the fan. If the fan does not run or E5 returns, the fan motor or main PCB is defective.
- Replace fan motor if needed: If the motor does not receive voltage or is open-circuit when tested with a multimeter, replace the fan motor assembly with a compatible Hisense part.
