Possible Causes
Basket not fully inserted, Misaligned door/basket microswitch, Broken actuator tab on drawer, Failed door switch on control board harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before manipulating the basket or internal switches.
- Check basket insertion: Remove the basket and drawer completely, then firmly reinsert until you hear or feel a click. Many Hisense air fryers require the drawer to be fully seated to close the safety switch.
- Inspect actuator tab: On the side or rear of the drawer, locate the plastic tab that presses the internal microswitch. If it is broken or worn, the switch will not engage. Replace the drawer or actuator part if damaged.
- Test the microswitch: With the outer shell removed, locate the door/basket microswitch. Manually press the switch and listen for a click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when pressed. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Check switch wiring: Ensure the switch connector is firmly attached to the main PCB and that wires are not loose.
- Reassemble and test: After adjustments or part replacement, reassemble the unit, plug it in, and start a short cycle. If E8 persists, the main PCB input circuit may be faulty.
