Possible Causes

Built-up grease on heater and chamber, Using too much oil or fatty foods without cleaning, Food particles on heating element, Blocked grease drainage in basket

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If heavy smoke appears, turn off and unplug the air fryer. Allow it to cool before cleaning.

Steps to reduce smoke:

  • 1. Deep clean interior: Remove basket and accessories. Clean the chamber, heater guard, and fan guard thoroughly to remove grease and burnt residue.
  • 2. Clean basket and pan: Ensure the basket and drip pan are free of old grease and food particles.
  • 3. Reduce oil: Use less added oil and avoid very fatty cuts of meat without a drip tray.
  • 4. Add water to pan: For very fatty foods, add a small amount of water to the bottom pan to catch drippings and reduce smoke.
  • 5. Check heater guard: Make sure the heater guard is in place to prevent direct contact between food and the element.

Warning: Excessive grease near the heater can ignite. Keep the unit clean.
