Possible Causes
Failed touch panel membrane, Loose ribbon cable to main board, Moisture or grease under control panel, Faulty control panel PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel.
Steps to address unresponsive controls:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. Sometimes the microcontroller locks up.
- 2. Clean exterior: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- 3. Access control panel: Remove screws securing the front panel. Carefully tilt it forward to expose the ribbon cable.
- 4. Reseat ribbon cable: Gently unplug and reinsert the cable, ensuring it is straight and fully seated.
- 5. Inspect for moisture: If condensation or liquid is visible inside the panel, allow it to dry completely before reassembly.
- 6. Replace control panel assembly: If specific buttons never work or the panel is cracked, replace the Insignia control panel assembly.
Warning: Do not operate the unit with the control panel removed; live parts may be exposed.
