Possible Causes
Open heating element, Loose heater wiring at terminals, Blown thermal fuse in heater circuit, Failed heater relay on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely before opening the housing.
Steps to diagnose no-heat condition:
- 1. Confirm fan operation: If the fan runs but there is no heat, the issue is likely in the heater circuit.
- 2. Access heater assembly: Remove the rear or top cover to expose the heating element and its terminals.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Check for loose spade connectors, burned insulation, or discolored terminals. Tighten or replace connectors as needed.
- 4. Test heating element: Disconnect one lead and measure resistance across the element. An infinite reading indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- 5. Check thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse in series with the heater. Test for continuity; if open, replace with the correct Insignia-rated fuse and investigate overheating causes.
- 6. Evaluate control board: If the element and fuse are good but no voltage is supplied to the heater during operation, the heater relay or triac on the main control board is likely defective. Replace the board.
Warning: Do not bypass the thermal fuse or operate the unit with exposed wiring.
